National Institute for the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) Jhang which is Affiliated with the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Islamabad is has announced the Admission for the MPhil, MPhil Leading, and Ph.D. Biotechnology. NIBGE is a center of excellence for human resource development in the field of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. It has affiliated with the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) Islamabad, for awarding MPhil and Ph.D. degrees.
NIBGE is also an affiliate center of the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) Trieste, Italy. As its tradition, NIBGE offers its platform to students who have a very high passion for science and have self-confidence in enduring the challenges of the highly demanding science of biotechnology.
Who Can Apply?
MPhil/MPhil leading to PhD
- All Pakistani nationals with minimum qualification of M.Sc./BS degree (16 years of education), in the field of Natural Sciences/Agricultural Sciences/ M.B.B.S./DVM/ PharmD from HEC, recognized university.
- A first-class academic career will prefer. However, the one-second division is allowed except in the last two final degrees.
- At least 3.0 CGPA (out of 4) or equivalent is required in M.Sc./BS.
- Candidates will be required to pass GRE/GAT/NTS (General) test prior to admission in MPhil and subject GRE (Biotechnology) before conversion to the Ph.D. program.
NIBGE University MPhil and Ph.D. Admission 2019 by PIEAS
Ph.D. and PhD Biotechnology :
- All Pakistani nationals with minimum qualification of M.Sc. (Hones)/ MPhil degree (18-years of education).
- A first-class academic career will prefer. However, the one-second division is allowable except in the last two final degrees.
- At least 3.0 CGPA (out of 4) or equivalent is mandatory in the final degree.
HEC scholarship holders are a top priority. - NIBGE employees who have been permitted by the competent authority may apply with the assurance of funding for research.
- Candidates must have cleared the subject GRE Test in Biotechnology as per HEC guidelines.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:-
Complete admission forms are available at (www.nibge.org) accompanied with attested copies of the certificates of qualification, domicile, character certificate, detail marks certificate, three passport size photographs, and no objection certificate from the employer in case of in-service candidates. Therefore, an Incomplete form causes a delay in admission or termination of candidature.
There will be a written test and also an interview for MPhil and MPhil leading to Ph.D. admission. However, for Ph.D. admission, candidates have to appear for an interview only. The candidates have been directed to bring their NIC, original testimonials, thesis, report, and also a copy of the publication (if any) at the time of the interview. Selected candidates will also require to submit a migration certificate (original) for admission.
