Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launch School Enrollment Drive

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a School Enrollment drive in the province. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is now working according to the educational policies they had announced during the election campaign. Chief Minister, of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, has said that these educational reforms have been made according to the vision of the party chairman. Pervez Khattak said, “People would witness a visible change in our education system by March next.”

There are around 1.5 million children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that don’t go to school because they can’t afford it. The government of the province has taken strict notice of this alarming situation and has decided the introduce an enrollment campaign throughout KPK to attract such children to schools. All the commissioners and deputy commissioners of the province have been given the responsibility to monitor the school enrollment campaign in order to make it successful.

According to the designed plan, the teacher of the schools will visit visit the nearby areas, identify the non-school going children and then they will try to convince their parents to send them to schools. It is a very major step taken by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in order to improve the literacy rate in the province and it is expected that different public representatives and civil society organizations will also provide support to the government in this cause.

The official launch of ceremony of enrollment campaign was held at government higher secondary school No.1 Peshawar Cantt which was attended by Imran Khan as chief guest, Chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak,  Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qiaser, Chief Secretary Mohammad Shehzad Arbab, Inspector General Police, Ihsan Ghani, Provincial Ministers, members of national and provincial assemblies, government functionaries, parents, students and a large number of media persons.

While talking to the media at the launch event of the school enrollment program in Peshawar, the chairman of PTI Imran Khan said: “The problems faced by Pakistan are not simple problems, but they are not impossible,” and the Chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said the provincial government will fulfill all its promises made to the public including the introduction of uniform system of education.
