Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) awarded Rs58 million scholarships

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) awarded Rs 58 million in scholarships during the year 2009-10 to over 3,000 students under 23 different programs, said QAU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Masood Yesinia on Monday. He stated this while addressing the MSc Merit Scholarship distribution ceremony, which was organized by the Scholarship Aid Office of QAU. Yersinia awarded Rs 2 million scholarship cheques to 175 brilliant students. The VC said the university administration was working hard to get resources and find different ways for helping students so that they could achieve their goal of higher education.

He said faculty, students and the administration must work together to improve the educational standards. He said the motive of QAU was to elevate the socio-economic position of the needy and deserving students by providing them access to quality education through needs/merit-based scholarships.

The QAU Scholarship Aid Office is awarding a number of donors/sponsors and University Financial Assistance Scholarships annually. The scholarships include Pakistan Baitul Mal Scholarship, Balochistan University Scholarship, District Scholarship, MORA Scholarship, Minority Student Scholarship, USAID Scholarship, JNBS, QAU Financial Assistance, Student Welfare Fund, MSc Merit Scholarship, M.Phil/Ph.D Merit Fellowship, Zainab Habib Ullah Scholarship, Riazud Din Trust Scholarship, MQK Scholarship, Dr Ishaq Zahid Scholarship, QAU Alumni Scholarship, AJK Council Scholarship, Political Agent Scholarship, Fuji Foundation Scholarship, Miscellaneous Scholarship, Provision of HEC Balochistan/FATA, and USAID Grant to FATA/Malakand Division (Affected Area).
