THE King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore, has developed a systematic calendar for all its examinations to be held in the one particular year.KEMU Lahore Developed Examinations Calendar.
The examination calendar, developed by the office of Controller of Examination under supervision of Vice Chancellor, has been approved by the Deans Committee and Academic Council of the varsity.
The examination calendar is for 72 different courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate, being run by university. The KEMU is running MBBS and 15 other undergraduate courses for Allied Health Sciences and about 58 postgraduate courses MD/MS/MDS/MPhil) in different disciplines in addition to PhD programme in Biomedical and Basic Sciences. The calendar, now developed by the university, tells each student of every course about minor details of the course right from its advertisement to its final examination. The calendar will be a great help to the students of the university, as they will know the exact month of all examinations of different courses varying from two to five years of duration. Now, the students don’t have to bank on examination schedules/date sheets of their respective examinations to be displayed on the notice board by the Examination Department nearing the examinations. It will help remove students’ confusions and frequent visits to the Examination Department for inquiries about their examinations.
Having examinations schedule of entire their course duration, the students now could focus more on their studies and plan their preparations for examinations accordingly.
However, the dates of the examinations have not been given due to official or unofficial holidays that may fall on those dates. The exact dates of tests, however, will be announced well ahead the examination. The supplementary examinations will be held 40 days after the announcement of the results. The KEMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan said that the university had developed its maiden examination calendar for holding all examinations of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a systematic manner for the convenience of the students and the university. Similarly, he said, the declaration of results has also been ensured on time. “The university is focusing on foolproof examination system, which is the back bone of any university,” he added.
