The job opportunities for commercial pilots are increasing every day due to the arrival of new private airlines in Pakistan. In order to become commercial pilot one you have to join any flying club or pilot training school in Pakistan.
Flying clubs and pilot training schools are located in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
For commercial professional airline pilot one has to do intermediate. If you are 17 years of age or above, with a Higher Secondary School Certificate, go to your nearest flying club for guidance. Initially, you will be issued with a Student Pilot License (SPL).
Thereafter, you can begin the training for the Private Pilot License (PPL) or for the Commercial Pilot License (CPL). Once you have your Commercial Pilot Certificate you can be paid to fly an airplane, and in addition you can become a Certified Flight Instructor (with some additional training) and teach others how to fly airplanes.

Basic Requirements to become an airline pilot:
Age: 18 years
Education: 12 years (FA/FSc/BA/Bsc)
Medical Fitness: CAA Standards

Pilot Courses in Pakistan:

After getting an aero club membership one has to complete the following training courses. There are three stages to become a commercial pilot.

S.P.L (Students Pilot License) in Pakistan: this exam is conducted after getting 3 hours of flying experience.

P.P.L (Private Pilot License) in Pakistan:  a candidate can participate in the P.P.L examination after getting 40 hours of flying experience.

C.P.L (Commercial Pilot License) in Pakistan: an experience of total 250 hours flying enables a person to take the test of C.P.L. This license is issued by Civil Aviation Authority (C.A.A) to those candidates who qualify required physical test, practical exam of pilot and theoretical examinations. CPL is actually 18months course during which 8 months ground studies is completed. In the ground studies you have been given information about map reading, navigation system, avionics, and inner and outer body parts of an aeroplane.  After passing all the exams you are given permission of flying. Then you have to do flying practice of more than 250 hours. This is the requirement of CPL license. Remember that this license is issued for one year duration only and then you have to renew it by passing a test.
One can get private pilot license or student pilot license or a commercial pilot license form a recognized flight training school or flying club.

Steps to become an airline pilot:

  1. You should have enough knowledge and passion to become commercial airline pilot in Pakistan. You must know that it is not an easy task because you have to take the responsibility of pilot seat in future.
  2. You should need to complete your intermediate education with science. Remember in FSc science but not in commerce group.
  3. After completing FSc, one needs to acquire a Commercial Pilot license. This license is issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan to those individuals who successfully pass the physical tests, theoretical exams and practical pilot exams.
  4. Before a person could give the test for the Commercial Pilot License, he or she has to complete 250 hours of flying which requires around 2.5 years.
  5. After acquiring a Commercial Pilot license one needs to complete his training in a training school after which he becomes eligible to drive an airplane.
