The Board of Intermediate Education (BIEK) on Tuesday announced the results of the Higher Secondary School, part-I (Class XI), Science (pre-engineering and general) group annual examinations-.
Like the recently declared Class-XI pre-medical results, girls maintained their superiority over boys by securing much better pass percentage in the pre-engineering and general groups’ examinations.
The percentage of girls who cleared all six papers in the pre-engineering group stood at 51.58 as against 38.22 attained by boys. Similarly, in the general group results, the overall pass percentage of girls having passed all six papers was 34.82 as compared to boys’ 18.69.
The statistics issued by the BIEK show that a total of 22,511 candidates (16,679 boys and 5,832 girls) appeared in the pre-engineering examination and 9,352 of them (6,349 boys and 3,003 girls) cleared all six papers while 3,221 candidates (2,417 boys and 804 girls) passed five papers; 3,037 candidates (2,372 boys and 665 girls) cleared four papers; 3,601 candidates (2,712 boys and 889 girls) cleared three papers; 1,950 candidates (1,610 boys and 340 girls) cleared two papers; and 1,083 candidates (977 boys and 106 girls) could clear only one paper.
In the general group, in all 1,496 candidates (799 boys and 697 girls) appeared in the examination and 390 of them (148 boys and 242 girls) were declared pass in all six papers. Among others, 321 candidates (131 boys and 190 girls) cleared five papers; 391 candidates (202 boys and 189 girls) passed four papers; 172 candidates (123 boys and 49 girls) cleared three papers; 116 candidates (99 boys and 17 girls) cleared two papers; and 80 candidates (73 boys and seven girls) could clear just one paper.
Meanwhile, the BIEK has announced that the marks-sheets will be issued to their respective institutions within the next two weeks
