Chief Minister Punjab Double Quota For Balochistan Students

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced doubling the quota fixed for male and female students of Balochistan in all Daanish schools, besides awarding them scholarships to meet their educational expenses. At present, about 500 Baloch male and female students are getting an education in Danish schools and other institutions in Punjab.

Balochistan Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Maalik Baloch called on Shahbaz here on Thursday. The Punjab CM also announced extending full cooperation to the Balochistan government in land record computerization as well as solid waste management. He said that every need of Baloch brethren would be fulfilled on a priority basis and vowed complete cooperation with the Balochistan government in this regard.

Shahbaz said that the Punjab government and people helped the earthquake affecters of Balochistan and stood by them in their hour of need. He said that Punjab is giving Rs11 billion to Balochistan every year out of its share of the NFC Award which is a commendable step of provincial government for strengthening the process of national unity.

He said that a leadership imbued with the spirit of serving the public and patriotism is in power in Balochistan and working honestly and sincerely for the development of the province. He said that due to the solid measures and policies of present leadership of Balochistan, not only the province will progress but Pakistan will also become stronger. He said that the present leadership of Pakistan is working with determination for redressing problems being faced by the people of Balochistan.

Shahbaz said that Balochistan is an important province of the country and its development, in fact, would results in Pakistan’s progress. He said, “We are ever ready for helping Baloch brethren.” He said that the Punjab government would fully support the Balochistan government for launching Rescue 1122 emergency service in the province. He directed the Planning & Development chairman to contact the officials concerned and take immediate steps for land record computerization, solid waste management and starting rescue 1122 service in Balochistan.

Dr Baloch said that the Punjab government and people not only helped the earthquake affecters but also fulfilled their every requirement. He said that the Balochistan government has decided to seek help from Punjab with regard to land record computerization and solid waste management.

He said that the Punjab government’s cooperation would also be sought for launching rescue 1122 service in the province.  Dr Baloch said that due to the solid steps of the Balochistan government, law and order situation is improving in the province. He also thanked CM Shahbaz for extending the quota for Baloch male and female students in Daanish schools.
